Value
When evaluating a pearl several factors are at play. Most important is the quality of the mother-of-pearl which is judged by the intensity of the lustre and the cleanness of the surface. Following are the value factors size, shape and colour. All these parameters need to be taken into consideration when determining the final value of the pearl. At times it can be complex for the layman to evaluate these factors and it is advisable to buy your pearls at a jeweller who can guarantee the quality. Where the quality is assured the final choice is made according to your personal preference in size, colour, and shape.
When asserting the quality Marc’Harit use the Tahitian official grading system, the so-called ABCD system.
